Itinerary
Day 1:Arrival in Kochi & Transfer to Munnar
Arrive at Kochi International Airport or Railway Station. Drive to Munnar (about 4-5 hours), enjoying scenic stops at Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls, spice plantations, and Karadippara viewpoint. Check in to your hotel and unwind, or explore the local market in the evening.
Day 2: Explore Munnar
Visit the famous Eravikulam National Park (home to Nilgiri Tahr) and other highlights like Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, and Kundala Lake. Stop by the Tata Tea Museum to learn about tea production. You can also choose a jeep safari or take a peaceful walk through tea plantations.
Day 3: Munnar to Thekkady (Periyar)
Drive to Thekkady (around 3.5 hours). After hotel check-in, explore Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary via a boat ride on Periyar Lake to spot wildlife. Visit spice plantations to see Kerala’s famed spices. Optional activities include elephant rides or cultural shows such as Kathakali in the evening.
Day 4: Thekkady to Alleppey & Houseboat Experience
Drive to Alleppey (~4 hours) and board a traditional houseboat by noon. Enjoy cruising through serene backwaters, paddy fields, and villages while all meals are served onboard. Relax and soak in the beautiful sunset views from the boat.
Day 5: Alleppey to Kochi & City Tour
Check out from the houseboat by 9 AM and drive to Kochi (~1.5 hours). Explore historic Fort Kochi with Chinese fishing nets, St. Francis Church, Dutch Palace, and the Jewish Synagogue. Visit Marine Drive and Lulu Mall for shopping. Optional evening activities include a sunset cruise or Kathakali performance.
Day 6: Departure from Kochi
Depending on your flight or train timing, transfer to Kochi airport or railway station. End your trip with wonderful memories of Kerala.
